The belt is truly a single piece of heavy leather that is died black and that seems to have been crafted in Ohio. The buckle does not attract a magnet as is the case for non-ferrous materials and some stainless-steel. It is NOT bonded-leather. It is NOT pieces stitched together. One should check belt loops to confirm that a thick, 1.5 inch belt will fit. Have worn a 48 inch belt used on last hole, but lost weight and ordered a 46 inch belt. Also, I carry items in pouch suspended from belt and this belt deals with all expected tasks very well.
